the tipping point

our python services were fine until they weren’t. once traffic grew past a certain point, the concurrency model became a bottleneck. we needed something that could handle thousands of concurrent connections without the overhead.

what go got right

goroutines — lightweight concurrency without callback hell

static typing — catches bugs at compile time, not at 3am in production

single binary deployment — no dependency management on the server

standard library —
net/http
alone covers most web service needs

what surprised us

the learning curve was shorter than expected. most of our team was productive within a week. the hardest adjustment was letting go of inheritance and embracing composition.

getting started with hugo terminal theme

welcome to the terminal theme for hugo. this is a minimal, terminal-inspired theme with dark and light mode support.

features

dark/light mode toggle with no flash on reload

career timeline driven by front matter

skills grid

blog with date-sorted posts

responsive design

zero external dependencies

quick start

install hugo (extended edition)

create a new site:
hugo new site mysite

add this theme to
themes/terminal

copy the example config and content

run
hugo server -D
and visit
http://localhost:1313

customization

all colors are defined as css custom properties in
assets/css/variables.css
. override them in your own css to change the color scheme.

contact

feel free to reach out.
